Shopify server-side tracking, set up and tested against your real orders.
We send every Shopify purchase from the server to GA4, Meta, Google Ads and TikTok, deduplicated with the browser, respecting consent, and monitored so it stays working.
- Fixed price, agreed before work starts
- Read-only access to start
- Tested against your Shopify orders
Browser tracking misses orders you paid to get.
Ad blockers, closed tabs, payment redirects and Safari cookie limits all stop the browser from reporting a purchase. Shopify has the order. Your ad platforms never hear about it.
- Lower reported ROAS
- Meta and Google optimize on the purchases they receive. Missing orders make good campaigns look worse than they are.
- Weaker audiences
- Fewer matched buyers means smaller, less accurate lookalike and remarketing audiences.
- Short Safari cookies
- Returning visitors look new after 7 days or less, so the first ad never gets credit.
- Apps that half work
- Many stores install a server-side app and never check deduplication, so numbers go up for the wrong reason.
What's included
Tracking audit first
We measure your current capture rate per platform against Shopify orders, so the improvement can be proven afterwards.
The right setup for your volume
Native Conversions API, a tracking app such as Elevar or Littledata, or your own server-side GTM container on Stape or Google Cloud. We recommend the cheapest option that closes your gap.
Purchases from the order webhook
Purchases sent from Shopify itself, so blocked browsers and closed tabs still count, with refunds handled correctly.
Deduplication
Browser and server events share one event ID, so Meta, Google and TikTok count each order once.
First-party cookies
Where server-side GTM is used, a first-party setup on your own domain so Safari keeps cookies longer.
Consent handling
Consent Mode v2 and your cookie banner wired through, so the server only forwards what each visitor allowed.
Customer data for matching
Hashed email, phone and address sent with purchases to raise Meta Event Match Quality and Google enhanced conversion match rates.
Monitoring and handover
A daily capture rate check, plus documentation of every tag, trigger and key, all owned by you.
How it works
- 1
Free tracking check
We measure what each platform sees today and estimate what server-side would recover.
- 2
Plan and fixed quote
You get the recommended setup, the tools it needs and a fixed price before anything changes.
- 3
Build and test
We implement on a staging container or test theme, place test orders and verify every destination.
- 4
Launch and monitor
We go live, compare capture rates for two weeks and hand over the documentation.
Common questions
Anything else, ask in the free check form or email hello@goodnumbers.io.
Is server-side tracking worth it for my Shopify store?
If GA4 or Meta records less than about 85% of your Shopify orders, or you spend more than about $10k a month on ads, usually yes. Below that, the free native options in Shopify's Facebook and Google apps often close most of the gap, and we will tell you so in the free check.
Do I need Elevar, Littledata or Stape?
Not always. Each suits a different store size and team. We compare them for your order volume and destinations and recommend one, or none if native integrations are enough.
Will server-side tracking get around cookie consent?
No. A correct setup reads the same consent signals as the browser and only forwards what the visitor agreed to. We do not build setups that ignore consent.
How long does a setup take?
Most Shopify stores take one to two weeks from approval, including testing and a monitoring period. Multi-store and headless setups take longer.
What does it cost to run?
Native integrations are free. Tracking apps and server-side GTM hosting have monthly fees based on order or request volume. You see the running cost in the plan before anything is built.
